Hello,

 

We are testing/familiarizing ourselves with the RMS POS software in prepartion for deploying and training users at several stores.  One of our scenerios is to put the register into offline mode by disconnecting the network cable.  When we did this we got a couple of SQL error messages (expected).  We then restarted the RMS POS software and was informed that it was not connected to the network and was starting in offline mode, as expected.  At this point the login window opens.  When we put in credentials, we are told that the cashier is not found (error 201).  We tried a different set of credentials which also was not found.  We use employee numbers for username and password initially so capitalization isn't an issue.

 

We looked at the local offline database and all of the cashiers are listed in the database table.  We compared the offline cashier data, user names and passwords fields, to the online database and they match.  We are not getting any errors when the register synchs with store database.

 

Can someone please help with this?

 

We are running:

Windows 7 Pro

IE 10

MS RMS 2.0 SP5

SQL Server 2008 R2 Express With Tools SP2

SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility stand-alone package

SQLServer2005_BC.msi

Local server: (local)\SQLEXPRESS2008R2

Local database: PGC_RMS_SO_OFFLINE

Will RMS support the RDM EC7000I card swipe/check reader for check verification?  It seems as though if I set the check to a credit card tender, it may work.

While in store operations POS, If I bring up the Find Item screen and leave up for a period of time, the POS screen will freeze and I have to close the program and restart it. Has anyone else seen this issue and if so what did you do to fix it...

How do I use the LISTPURCHASES function for the Customer currently loaded?

I've been able to pull other information, (AccountNumber, TotalSales, TotalSavings, Notes, Name, etc...) but not ListPurchases.

We have about more than 200 suppliers, and some of the stores missing couple suppliers.

I tried to run a worksheet 206 and it ask me to select each stores. Is there any way to download all suppliers to update each stores?

With RMS, can you have the same item, in three different countries, with three different prices all on the same HQ?  From what I see with pricing, it does not appear to be an option, but I want to verify this.

Hi All,

I have recently upgraded my workstation pc from xp to windows 7, cut and paste is a valuable function which we use all the time creating multiple items and copying the text from one item to another, also many other times looking up customers details and copying and pasting from one application to another. However this function does not work in RMS now, I can copy from RMS into notepad but cannot paste back into rms.

If someone can advise a fix for this would be much appreciated.

Hi, we've encountered the problem when sending inter-store transfer that the user forgets to specify what store they are sending the transfer to. The ship to stays blank. Once a transfer like this is issued the products are sent to "space". Does anyone know how make RMS prompt you for a ship to store address if you haven't chosen one yet??

Is there a guide for moving our POS 2.0 installation to a new computer? I found docs for upgrading versions, but nothing for moving to another computer. The old computer will be going away and we'll remain a one POS installation. Can I just install the POS on the new computer and then replace the data file with the data file from the old computer? And if so, where do I find the data file. If not, what is the recommended practice?

Does anybody have any experience using these devices for doing physical inventories? We're looking for something relatively inexpensive to replace our old Worth Data Tricoder units. Can the Opticons be easily programmed to validate scans using a lookup table of ILCs and Aliases?

I have a customer who when trying to round on discounted items, it does not keep the sale price the same when the quantity is changed for the sale item? How do you keep the sale price while rounding for multiple quantities.

The data management module in RMSynergy is no longer being developed or supported. I am looking for a replacement application with similar functionality.

Hello,

I am trying to create a custom report within RMS that shows all tenders-- including checks.  It will show Cash and Credit Cards only.  I checked and Checks are active and I have nothing in the current report that would filter checks (or any tender) out.  What am I doing wrong?

We are having issues with our transaction being delayed, by 5-6 mins when its trying to post. After testing the network and adjusting settings based on most of the advice on this site. What we have discovered however using SQL profiler when a transaction is posting is the transaction trys to run the exact same query 5-6 times in a row with a 1 min wait in between trys. this is where the delay comes from. Once the query actually goes then the transaction finished very quickly. Below is the listed query, so hopefully someone can help advise why it is having to run it so many times, or how to reduce the retry time between them.

Hi folks,

I see there is a "store logo" image option in Store Operations Administrator, File, Configuration, "Register" tab, but how do I add this store logo to the sales receipt?

If you can provide the XML code to add the store logo, I'd really appreciate it.

I've been having issues with my install of RMS 2.0.1006

We migrated to a new computer running SQL Server Express 2008 R2

Everything has been running fine for months now. Recently though we had a power outage and when I rebooted the computer I couldn't get any of the RMS programs to run. I got a error popup that a database connection could not be made. I have to reboot the computer and it connects fine again. This happens from time to time randomly

Event viewer shows this errors:

A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) service to connect.

Event ID 7009

The SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Event ID 7000

The SQL Server Agent (SQLEXPRESS) service depends on the SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Event ID7001

Any input on what I need to do to fix this issue?
