I am very new to this RMS and to be frank enough I have never used RMS in my track record. But I am given a task to implement the RMS with magento, a php open source e-commerce script. I know RMS uses mssql as a backed. I was in search of some ER diagram documentation (database schema) but ended up as a login screen. I thought I could come to the database schema understanding part a bit later. But as a first step I want to sync the products from RMS to magento. I thought of providing an automated .cvs export of products in a scheduled time so that my php script could read the .csv from a destination directory. My question, is there a automated export of csv in a scheduled period of time and push the csv to a directory? Thanks for any reply.

(One!) Standard User Cannot Open Store Manager
My question: If a Windows 7 "Standard User" on one workstation can open Store Manager, why can't a "Standard User" on another machine open Manager? My understanding is that file sharing permission are set on the server, so why is the server discriminating against one workstation?
I am trying to follow the guidelines for increased credit card security. To this end, I have switched all employees from being Windows 7 "Administrators" to "Standard Users." Oddly, every POS station and work station can open Store Manager - with the exception of one workstation. On this one workstation, I receive the error "Bad File Name or Number" when opening Store Manager. I believe this is being caused by Store Manager not being able to open folders (e.g. "Store Operations>Reports" on the server). My clue here is that when I set the paths to the proper folders using RMS Administrator, it says "access denied."
P.S. By switching to the Administrator account on the "problem" workstation, I can log into Store Manager.

"3" Key jumps down in Tender screen
When we enter into the tender screen and press the "3" key, it doesn't work, instead of inputting a 3, it jumps down to the last tender type. The 3 key works everywhere else in RMS and in other programs, I've also tried different keyboards and they do the same thing, so it's not a hardware issue. I've tried Numlock on/off and that doesn't help. We have a second lane and everything works fine there, so it's just the one computer. I feel like there must be a simple solution here, but I haven't been able to find it. Thanks!

Transactions do not have tender information
During a transaction, the transaction will complete, but a receipt fails to print. When I check the TenderEntry table for the transaction tender information, there is no row for the transaction. This situation is inconsistent which makes troubleshooting very difficult. I have also received the following error: Error #: 2147217871 Query Timeout, but this doesn't happen every time. Some sales associates have also reported that the screen will freeze and go white, and then the POS application shuts down. From a data perspective there is a row in the transaction table and transactionentry table, but no entry in the tenderentry table. My thought is some sort of sql deadlock. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so could you recommend a solution?

Creating a Report Column that is a sum
I'm wondering whether it is possible to create a column in a report that shows the sum of two numbers from different columns.
The specific calculation i'm trying to do is:
(TransactionEntry.Price - AccountReceivable.Balance) and have a column in the report show this value for each transaction Entry.
The report would display something like this:
| TransactionEntry.Price | AccountReceivable.Balance | Price - Balance |
| $20 | $5 | $15 |

Issues Running Macros
Greetings,
I am having issues running macros on a new POS station I am setting up. I can record the macro just fine, but when I go the play it using a custom button, nothing happens, and the macro record button is disabled, requiring Store Operations POS to restart before getting it to work again.
Currently running Microsoft Dynamics RMS 2.0 on Windows 7 with UAC disabled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

HQ Price Changes (Store Prices)
I have a client running HQ and they need to be able to do the following:
On existing items, when prices are changed in the Pricing tab, they would like to populate their Store Pricing tab with the following mapping
Pricing Tab --> Store Pricing
MSRP --> Price
MSRP --> MSRP
Price B --> Cost
Does anyone have an idea of how to handle this? The client makes 100's of pricing changes per day and this makes work very tedious for him. They are not against purchasing a third party plugin that would simplify this work.

Store Operations POS Opens But Doesn't Display
I am running Windows 7 and Store Operations has been running fine. Then the next time I opened it, after logging in with my username/pw the program "opens" but the transaction screen isn't visible. The SOP icon is showing in the task bar at the bottom and if I open the task manager is says it's running. Anyone experienced this before? How did you remedy without uninstalling and reinstalling the entire program?

RMS Store Ops not shutting down completely
Customer running RMS 2.0 FP2 on NCR equipment (Windows 7). Occasionally, it will appear that RMS is not running (nothing on screen or task bar). They try to restart it but can't. On investigation, open Task Manager. There is nothing in the "Applications" tab, but SOPOSUSER.exe is still listed in the "Processes" tab. Kill that and then can restart application.
I can't determine why this is happening. I don't see anything useful in the Event Viewer.
-- Is there a log where I can see if /when the application is being closed (to determine if this is user-driven or something on the system causing the application to close? (The manager reporting the problem when opening the store is not there when the store is closed)
-- If the user is closing the application, they may be using a the macro I assigned to the taskpad that simulates the "ESC" key. Has anyone had a problem with this?

Inventory Scanner RMS2.0 - what do you use?
Trying to find an inventory scanner to use with Microsoft RMS 2.0. Considering the Opticon OPH1004. Has anyone used this? What scanner do you use? What is your process for uploading the inventory? Trying to find something budget conscious, easy to use, etc. THANKS!

RMS HQ DynaZIP ZIP Warning
RMS 2.0 Multi-Store Environment with HQ
Recently we have been experiencing DynaZIP ZIP Warning: Zip File error...missing end signature, followed by a DynaZIP ZIP Error: Zip File Structure invalid. On our RMS HQ Server.
When these warning/error appear RMS HQ hangs until the messages are cleared. We have not noticed any issues as a result of these errors except that other locations are prevented from communicating. Once the errors are cleared, any store that had started communicating will connect.
Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions on how to correct the issue?

Add First name to Lookup Layaway
I need to add firstname to layaway lookup. At the moment it only gives me last name. If someone comes in without a receipt and I need to lookup by name it is very hard as some people have same surname and I have to oen each to find the right one. If I could replace comments or add first name this would solve a lot of my problems.

Transaction number skip 10308 to 11308
I have a client with RMS (CU5) and their transaction number skipped from 10308 to 11308 in one shot.
Anyone ever seen this before? Any explanation? In the database the transaction ID's are consecutive but it seems RMS decided to skip 99 transaction numbers

Customer Statement balance not taking including manual account adjustments
Hi Guys,
We have an issue with the statement template. When a manual adjustment is made on an account, the customers statement is printed at the end of the month the balance on the statement does not take into account manual adjustments that were carried out during the previous month. I am attaching an example of exactly what I am talking about.
I have tried a number of customer statement templates including RMS default template but none of the statements display the correct balance at the bottom of the page when an account has been manually adjusted. If I look at the customers account properties the correct balance is displayed in this window. Has anyone come across this before? I would appreciate any suggestions

Microsoft RMS Store Manager - Question regarding the printing of labels.
Hello,
In our system we print our bar code labels from within the Store Manager. We originally used the Cognitive Advantage Blaster. For multiple reasons we have decided to replace it with the Dymo Labelwriter 450 Twin Turbo.
In store we use the 3 0f 9 Bar Code Label. The labels we have set up printed fine on the previous printer, however now when ever I go to print a label instead of printing the normal bar code label.
It prints something like the following:

PITCH 200
STRING 18x23 0 10
STRING 24x31 2 60
END
It will print the other Bar Codes that are in the system, just not the 3 of 9.
Something else, to note, is that when I got to print labels it shows a preview of the label, except when trying to print 3 of 9 - It just says no preview available.
As far as i know the labels that it will print are all stock with the POS and the labels that will not print are the 3 of 9 labels that I believe are custom. However, they have always printed in the past.
Another note, I installed the printer with the driver it came with and I installed it with the the Generic - Generic Text driver.
The generic text driver is what always worked on previous printers.
I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

RMS POS all function Freeze when foreign currency is selected (SHFT + CTRL + F2)
After scanning all item into the POS screen, we converted all currency to a foreign currency by selected SHFT + CTRL + F2. However once the foreign currency is selected, all function in RMS freeze and could not proceed to tender. Anyone can help?

Suggested Credit/Debit Terminals for Credit Card Processing in EDC (Preferred Acquirer)
We are moving away from PC Charge (finally) and would like to know which terminals work well with Dynamics RMS (and are any of them EMV capable, so when RMS EDC is updated to process EMV we don't have to buy new equipment).
We accept credit and PIN debit.
Our bank has suggested the FD-35 PIN pad, which can mag swipe and is EMV capable, but I am unable to find any information regarding this equipment in relation to RMS, and our MS Partner had not had any experience with it.

Importing internet orders
Hi all,
I'm looking for details on the XML format used to import internet orders in to the exchange table.
I already have orders being imported, but the billing address is being imported as the shipping address, even though the xml data has different addresses for ship and bill addresses.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on why.
