Unresponsive tender screen in RMS

I'm having an issue where the tender screen becomes unresponsive. You cannot hit the cancel or OK button, X button to close the window, or use the arrow/number keys to make any changes in the tender window.

This is happening on machines running Win7 x64 and RMS 2.0.0126. We are using the Mercury/Retail Realm software for credit card processing. The issue typically occurs once you have entered the total or hit the + key to proceed with a CC/debit transaction, then the Mercury window pops up, and then the transaction is cancelled on the screen or on the IPAD, and it brings you back to an unresponsive tender window at that point. You cannot use arrow keys or mouse cursor to do anything in the tender window. I have found that occasionally the Escape key on the keyboard will allow you to close the tender window and then proceed with the transaction. Sometimes that doesn't work, and I have to actually log off the current Windows user and then log back in to get RMS to work again. There are no error messages that I can see when this happens.

This is not happening at any of our locations using WinXP 32-bit, so my hunch is that it has something to do with Win7 64 and the Mercury Pay/Retail Realm software. Has anybody seen this behavior or have any ideas?


Lot matrix Items

What I need is to be able to create a method, whether it be a lot matrix, matrix, or macro, that deducts from the inventory if I sell a single item or a package of more than one. As an example - I sell cigarettes in single packs or by the carton.  Currently I receive cigarettes by the pack even though I buy them by the carton. If I purchase four cartons, I enter 40 into the purchase order and once I receive the PO the inventory is increased by 40 packs. As I sell individual packs the inventory is reduced accordingly. What I want the program to be able to do is to reduce the inventory by 10 if I sell a carton without having to go to the item subtract 10 packs. How can this be done?

Creating a lot matrix item requires me to create a look up code unique for the lot, but I do not want my cashiers having to remember codes or have to go to a book to find a bar code. Is there a way to create the lot matrix utilizing the barcode on the single pack or the carton that brings up the selection box for either item?

Help, Help, I need somebody.

 

I just set up my new win 7 pro 64 bit server.  It is set up the same way as my XP server in the configuration tabs etc, but the off line synchronization fails with each
Z reading on the POS terminal, with a time out message.  I have fixed the permissions in the registry keys in the Microsoft\Retail Managements System\Store operations to give Full Control to the POSUser etc with no luck.  I have set up the administrator configuration setting to be the same as my old SP server etc.   Does anyone have some suggestions?? 

All of the other procedures seem to work fine.

Tax ID number filter in report

Does anybody have a report that you can filter in the "Tax ID number" field under the customer properties. I have whole bunch reports and none of them have any TAX ID number to be filter.

Below is the error with RMS 2.0 Build 2.0.1006. RMS is running on windows 7 Pro 64 Bit system. RMS POS crashes anytime during or after transaction there is no specific event i can tell as it happens randomly and it happens on all 4 POS Machines that are running same OS windows 7 Pro 64 Bit OS as well as Processor 64 Bit. All windows updates are applied. Found with some google search that ntdll.dll cause because of some hardware and drivers conflicts. Any issues with RMS 2.0 on 64bit OS ??? If yes , any solutions or suggestions will be appreciated.

I'd like to automate the execution of the tender summary report so it runs daily and emails the results to our accounting department.  Is this possible with RMS?


Headquarters Manager customization

I know that you can create executables and include them as add-ins in the Add-In menu in Headquarters.  Is there anyway to add a button to one of the existing screens (like the Item Properties screen or the Item Lookup screen) that calls an additional executable?

Hi Guys

Looking at bringing an RMS installation up-to-date.
Current Version RMS 2.0.0155 Running on XP Pro with MSDE 2005.
A one store with one register installation.

1> Should I move to Windows 7.0, if yes what version 32 or 64 bit? or is staying with XP Pro okay?
2> If staying with Win XP Pro should I upgrade my SQL Server Express 2005 & to what version? Any special instructions on doing this available?
     If moving to Windows 7 should I upgrade my SQL Server Express 2005 & to what version (32 or 64)?
3> My understanding is that I need to install Feature Pack 2 (FP2), and then all the Hotfix's #32 all the way to Hotfix #37 (they are not cumulative which will bring me to build 2.0.1006.) Is this correct?
4> Any other words of advice would be appreciated? Is 2.1006 the best version to have as a final build?

I was installing a new Epson tm t88v and a cognitive bar code labeler and suddenly I start getting activex component can't create image run error 429.  now I can't open either pos or manager.  any suggestions?

Problems with Headquarters Quantities After Performing Interstore Transfers

Hi. We run a business with one main store with  headquarters and store ops servers and three satellite stores with store ops servers. We do all of our receiving at our main store and then send product to the satellite stores with periodic restocks. The problem I am running into is that after performing an interstore inventory transfer, while the quantities in both the sending and receiving store ops databases accurately reflect the transfer, the quantities listed as being at each store within HQ manager are thrown drastically out of wack. This occurs whether I originate an Item Transfer in the sending store's Store Ops Manager or perform the process via a worksheet 330.

For example, if I have 1 of an item at the main store and move to transfer it to a satellite store that has 0 of the item, I perform the following steps:

1) Create a worksheet 330 in HQ manager, stating to transfer 1 of the item from the main store  A (where 1 is present) to Store B (where 0 are present) and approve the worksheet.

2) I allow both HQ clients to connect to the HQ server and process the worksheet.

3) I log into Store Ops at Store A, open the newly downloaded item transfer, click Issue, Issue All, and Commit.

4)I log into Store Ops at Store B, open the item transfer, click Receive, Receive All, and Commit.

5) I create a Data Upload Worksheet 401, approve it, and make both HQ clients connect and process the worksheet.

Now, Store Ops at Store A shows 0 of the item, as it should. Store Ops at Store B shows 1 of the item, as it should. But HQ Manager shows 2 at Store A and 1 at Store B. This result is not uniform. I've performed an identical series of actions and had HQ show as many as 4 or 8 at one or both ends of the transfer. And, of course, I can always request a full item count and perform a reconciliation for both stores, but this is a pain to do every single time, and it seems like a work around for something that should work in the first place. I've even tried setting up SQL Profiler on the Headquarters Server to see what commands the worksheets were issuing to the HQ Database, but I'm not super experienced with SQL and it was kind of overwhelming.

I know this is a pretty general problem, but any help on this matter would be hugely appreciated.

Transaction table and Transaction number in RMS 2.0

Hi guys,

I just want to clarify about the transaction table in RMS. My question is, if an item has not been sold, it will not appear in the transaction table?

Is there a temporary table that serves as a storage for the items that has been transacted and items that had been returned? How is transaction number generated in RMS?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Odd Errors when opening customer accounts

Hello-

We get strange errors when we create new customers, often times it happens around the same time (see attached Photos).

 We typically have to 

shut down POS and go to task manager, kill the remaining service and then restart, or reboot the computer.

Detailed Sales Report with Serial Number of the last Official Receipt/Invoice number

Help!

How can I show the column in the sales report in which the Serial Number of the last Official Receipt/Invoice number issued for the month being reported?

Here in the Philippines, transaction number and the official receipt or invoice number should also be shown in the sales report.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

HQ server not connecting

I moved HQ server from one computer to another. I changed the port in the router changed the location of the server in the tab on Hq server. But it still will not connect??? Any ideas? When I am at one of the stores and I try to test network connection the following server cant be contacted? Any ideas i must be missing something.

POS from PC to Tablet

I am starting a new business and I am currently running Microsoft Dynamics RMS on a PC. I am trying to find out if it is possible to run this program on a tablet. The PC is not what I was looking for but was the first thing I ran to. If it is possible to run it on a tablet what would be needed and how would i go about it. Thanks in advance.
