Hi folks,
We have a problem with Canadian sales tax (GST/HST).
Like the US, sales tax rates vary by Province (like in the States), so in Nova Scotia we pay 15%. Someone in Ontario pays 13%.
Our store also sells items that are partially exempt from sales tax - kids clothing is taxed at a flat 5% in any province.
We currently assign sales taxes on a per-item basis to deal with this.
Now that we sell across the country over the web, we could switch to a per-customer basis using customer location.
However, if we do that then we lose our ability to handle items that are taxed at different rates... the Ontario shopper buying a kids jumper is paying 13% "Customer Tax" based on their location.
Is there a way to override the Customer Tax for a group or class of items?
