Dynamics POS 2009 - Activation Issue

Hello, Dynamics community.

I just have a small issue regarding the Dynamics POS 2009 software. I've read that the mainstream support has ended but the extended support is until a couple years later. Now, would this cause an issue where POS 2009 will not activate all of a sudden?

I've tried multiple machines that are connected to the Internet and are able to connect to Microsoft websites, but I've had no luck since it keeps telling me there is a "Network Communication Error".

Any insight would be great.

RMS to WooCommerce Inventory updates

Im Looking for a module that will sync our Inventory from RMS with our Online Store which uses WooCommerce.  I just want to be able to sync Inventory levels.  I have looked at POS-Sync. which showed promise but it never worked and they never responded to e-mails or help tickets.  Any help would be great!!! Thanks!

Getting a out of memory error and RMS Crashes...any ideas? Where has the KG gone too these days?

Hi All

We recently updated a client’s base operating system from XP to 7. The installation of Store Operations V2.0.0126, Epson OPOS and the required updates and patches was a little tricky but you guys helped us out with some advice and the system has been stable and functional.

However, our techs have one issue that’s proving difficult to resolve, the system and the TM-T88IVU refuse to print the British pound sign on receipts. The character that is actually printed is œ

In Store Operations Manager, under Sales Receipt Properties we see the character code set as 437.

In OPOS, under Device Specific Settings we see the character code set as 437.

We know we can go into Memory Switch Setting Mode on the printer and check this value but it does mean a site visit. If this value needs to be changed then ok, but if it’s the same, 437, do we need to check and adjust elsewhere?

Where else can we check this value?

This is what document says.

what about "Cumulative Update #5"

Do I have to intall Cumulative Update #5 and the lastest hotfix #52 or

I just need to install the lastest hotfix #52?

is it better to upgrade? or stay ver 2.0.1006?

is there any known issue with Hotfix #52?

I recently upgraded customer to from 2.0.1006 to 2.0.2014. After CU5 and hotfix roll up #52 customer can no longer multiply (3*). They get internet script error-application defined or object defined error it referances status .htm and it asked to continue running script and then we answer no or yes and it gives error 91 and kicks out of RMS POS  . This is true at both locations and at my office. If I remove hot fix #52 rollup and go back to 2.0.2000 (cu5) it works again. We are using Hero points add on but they said not from them. Any help would be appreciated.

Barcode Labels - Alias

Hi,

Is there a way I can print barcode labels using the alias instead of the ILC?  Some of our ILC's from our suppliers are too large to fit on the butterfly labels we use for our jewellery items.

Sync HQ item table to store?

I was wondering if there is a way to sync the item table from HQ to a store? I see there is a work sheet 101, but says do not run if you exported the stores database when it was created.

Here is the problems I have

We have have archived some deactivated items to the historicalitem table.

Some items are inactive in hq but still show active at the store.

Is it possible to Extend Inventory Item Description Field Lengths

We are in the process of migrating from Microsoft Point Of Sale 2.0 to Microsoft RMS 2.0.

Migrating the data has so-far been reasonably simple. The issue we are having is the POS 2.0 Item.Description column in the database was nvarchar(128), in RMS it has been reduced to 30 characters. I have tried altering the column length in the RMS database to 128 and everything I've tested continues to work with 2 exceptions:

1) Recalling held transactions works, putting them back on Hold does not, the transaction disappears when this is attempted. With items on a transaction containing Description field where there are 30 characters or less it works properly, it is only with a transaction containing items that have Descriptions longer than 30 characters this fails silently.

2) Tendering a transaction containing an item where the Description field containing more than 30 characters fails, 30 or less it succeeds. The On failure a dialog box opens with the message: "Run-time error '-2147217887 (80040e21)': Multiple step operation generated errors. Check each status variable. Clicking OK exits RMS

So is there an error log that would provide any insight into why this is happening? I realize extending the the length of the Item.Description and TransactionHoldEntry.Description Columns from 30 chars to 128 is ultimately what is causing the failure. Is there a better way of extending that column length?

I have attempted to use SQL Profiler to track down if the problem is a query error but both scenarios; success and failure on #2 look the same.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We are moving away from PC Charge (finally) and would like to know which terminals work well with Dynamics RMS (and are any of them EMV capable, so when RMS EDC is updated to process EMV we don't have to buy new equipment).

We accept credit and PIN debit.

Our bank has suggested the FD-35 PIN pad, which can mag swipe and  is EMV capable, but I am unable to find any information regarding this equipment in relation to RMS, and our MS Partner had not had any experience with it.

When i am using SO Manager and i try to open the journal to print and old transaction or in SO POS when i press F4 the system get freeze and i just can close it using the escape key on my keyboard, i am using RMS 2.0 updated to v. 2.0.1006 in windows 8 with SQL Server 2005, everything in the same computer

Not able to access Custom Reports on Win 7 machines

I am in the process of upgrading all of my computers to Win 7 and have installed 2 back office computers so far.  I have not upgraded the computer that actually runs my RMS POS.  I am unable to access the "Custom Reports" in the Store Operations Manager on the 2 back office computers.  I was able to until I upgraded them.  They are now grayed out.  What can I do so I can access them on all computers?
