We use RMS HQ with 4 stores. Is it possible to trace when a new item was added and by whom? In 2 of our stores we are having a problem with duplicate items. We have always used UPC-A barcodes (9 years now), and we scan them with the 1st and last digit removed (10 digit scan). This has worked fine (I don't know if it is the right way or not, it is just how this was set up when I became involved). Now we are finding 2 separate item listings in 2 of the store databases, one with a 10 digit item number, and one with a 12. The 12 digit item number has the 10 digit listed as an alias, but somehow a 10 digit item number has been added to the database. Since the scanner only scans 10 digits, this is the one that it inserts when the item is scanned, and it is the wrong one. We cannot figure out where these 10 digit items came from. They do not exist in the HQ database, so it appears they were added somehow later.
