Hello Everyone,
I am trying to update my Dynamics RMS system to Feature Pack 2. I've followed the pre installation instructions provided with the update, but when I go to run the installer on the server hosting the database, I get an error telling me something to the effect of "all clients must have a .net version of 3.5 or above installed".
Fair enough, but on closer inspection, the host has a .net version that was 3.5 or better. I upgraded it to 4.5 anyway, which didn't make a difference. I then went to each client and installed the new .net version. This didn't work either. (Does the database host even know what .net version each client is running???)
I don't believe I had any clients running the Administrator, Manager, or POS software at the time, and I'm pretty sure I upgraded all of my clients to the new version of .net.
I tried installing the update on a client, and it installed without problem (I haven’t used that client on the system since).
What am I doing wrong? I get the feeling that it is something on the database host that is stopping the install. The operating system is Server 2008 Foundation Edition.
Thanks in advance,
